Hi guys!  My name is Ravi Shukle & I am a social media specialist living in the same city that brought you James Bond, Buckingham Palace & the Queen. Of course I’m talking about London, England.

First & foremost, I would like to thank you for taking the time out to visit my blog & find out a little more about me.

Social media has been a passion of mine for many years. This passion actually began offline, where I was active in my local community, helping to improve the local sporting facilities for young people. It was when I first helped to bring this community online that I realised the true potential of building relationships — and so my social media dream was born.

I’ve always been one to experiment with social sites, testing out how they work & how they can add value. This ranges from the early days of Myspace to today’s ever-changing world of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google + and more.  This brings us to the present day, where I now help businesses utilize social media to achieve their goals & objectives.

My goal is to help you grow & manage your community online using social media. I have created this blog to help you get all the information you need to build social media relationships, increase your conversations, conversions and cash flow online. I will do this by offering you the tools & techniques you need to become a successful social brand — both on & offline.

I’ve put together a few questions below so that you can get to know me a little better.

1) What was the first ever job you had?

We all have to start somewhere. For my first job I worked in sales in a commission based role for a home improvements company at the age of 15.

2) How did you get into social media?

I’ve always been an early adopter of social networks — from the early days of MSN messenger, Myspace and Hi5, I knew I enjoyed connecting with others online. I then joined my first marketing agency, helping to run Samsung’s social media channels throughout the UK. I have since helped other agencies & now run my own business helping companies reach their online goals using social media.

3) Why did you choose social media as your chosen path? 

I’ve always loved connecting with others online, and still find it amazing that a person has access to millions worldwide.  I knew from the moment I helped my local community build an online presence and saw the benefits both on & offline that social media was the perfect avenue for me. This allowed me to combine what was my hobby & passion for connecting with others into a business.

4) If you didn’t work in social media what would you be doing?

This is a tough one, but apart from social media I am also very passionate about health & fitness, and believe one of the keys to a happy & successful life is looking after your mind, body and spirit so I would most likely become a nutritionist or consultant in the health & fitness niche.

5) What’s the best piece of social media advice you can offer to others?

Social Media is like a marriage — it takes a long term commitment, and there are no shortcuts. (Click To Tweet)

You have to set realistic goals & work towards these on a daily basis to see results.

6) If you met Mark Zuckerberg, what is the first thing you would ask him?

I think a lot of people would ask him about the future plans for Facebook, but I’d have to ask him, “What was your key source of motivation when building Facebook?” Mark, if you’re listening, I would love to hear your thoughts.

7) What do you like to do in your spare time?

Not many people know this, but when I was 19, I won a Youth Achievement Award & got a letter from the Prime Minister for my work helping young people in my local community to raise over £54,000. This is something I am still very passionate about to this day, and I still continue to work closely with my local community to help bring better facilities & opportunities for young people.  I also enjoy fitness & photography in my spare time.

8) If you were a cartoon character who would you be?

I’m a big kid at heart & still love cartoons, so I’d have to say my cartoon character would be Dexter from the show Dexter’s Laboratory. Like him, I’m just a geeky guy, always tinkering around with ideas & testing them out.
